Grace Eloise Bugg

Grace Eloise Helm Bugg, 81, of Hunt, TX, passed away on August 14th, 2024. She was born on September 18th, 1942 in Houston, TX to Jack K. Helm and Mary Grace Schirmacher Helm. She grew up in a home with her parents and five siblings whom she loved dearly. As a teenager she made the Houston Youth Symphony Ballet and also taught ballet. She married the love of her life Robert J. Bugg Jr. on September 8th, 1961. They had two beautiful children Keith and Kelly. She became an insurance specialist for Dow Chemical covering COBRA for all of the Southwest Texas Division. After retiring from Dow she traveled across the country with her mother and step-father. After many years of traveling, she moved to El Paso, TX with her daughter and son-in-law. During her time in El Paso she cooked and served many meals in the soup kitchen at their church. After living in El Paso, she moved to Hunt, TX and became a member of Hunt Baptist Church. She worked as the receptionist for Kerrville Pest Control, which gave everyone a good laugh considering her last name. After retiring the second time she moved to New Braunfels, Tx and became a member at Grace Community Church. She enjoyed retirement by spending time with her daughter, son-in-law, siblings, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Grace lived a beautiful life filled with love, joy, and faith. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her kindness touched the hearts of many and her smile lit up any room she was in. She was filled with such genuine love for the people around her which in return made a positive impact on so many lives. She will be dearly missed.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents Jack K. Helm and Mary Grace Helm; Brothers, Jack Helm, Jim Helm and Jordan Helm; Husband, Robert J. Bugg, Jr.; Son, Keith Allen Bugg and daughter-in-law, Johanna Dent Bugg.

Grace is survived by, daughter Kelly Barker (Ronnie); Brother, John Helm (Leah); Sisters, Kay Helm and Aby Smith; Grandchildren, Ryan Gernand (Brittany), Kristen Gernand (Bryan), Austin Bugg (Blair), Travis Bugg (Megan), Taylor Boling (Charlie) and Tanner Bugg (Reagan); Great Grandchildren, Grayson Gernand, Brynlee Gernand, Landon Gernand, Tinley Bugg, Konner Bugg, Jaxon Boling and Easton Bugg and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Ryan Gernand, Austin Bugg, Travis Bugg, and Tanner Bugg; Brother John Helm; Nephews Lance Helm. Justin Helm, and Johnathan Helm.

Memorials may be given to St Jude Children's Hospital or Tunnels for Towers.

A funeral service for Grace will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Restwood Funeral Home, 1038 West Plantation Dr. Clute, TX 77531, followed by a committal service from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.
