Helen Louise Clark McQuaig went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 19, 2020. She fought many health issues while in her earthly body but is finally living pain free in her Heavenly home.
Helen was born in St. Mary’s, GA and raised in Thunderbolt, GA. She was raised in a strong Christian home, the youngest of 4 children, one sister and 2 brothers. Her and her sister were inseparable growing up. Helen was kind of shy and her big sister always looked out for her. Her family later moved to Key West, FL to follow the shrimping season, where she met and married her husband of 53 years, Johnny McQuaig.
Helen was a very modest and humble person who loved the Lord and loved her family. She had a strong moral compass that she lived her life by. She was a devoted wife and mother and always put her family first. Helen was not a socially active lady. She devoted all of her time to her family, raising her children and being the best mom a child could ever hope for. Her love for her family knew no bounds.
She and her husband built a successful shrimp business that grew to 5 Gulf shrimp boats. While in the shrimp business, they split their time between Key West, FL and Freeport, TX eventually making their permanent home in Freeport, TX. Her beautiful soul and strong, steady guidance will be greatly missed by her daughter, Debbie.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents Claude Sr. and Bernice Clark, her husband Johnny McQuaig, her son Timothy McQuaig, her brothers Albert Norman Clark and Claude Y Clark, Jr., sister-in-law Ollie Clark and brother-in-law Delbert Garris.
She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories her loving daughter, Debbie McQuaig, her sister Delores Garris, many nieces and nephews and her West End Baptist Church family.
Graveside Service will be held at Restwood Memorial Park on Thursday September 24, 2020 at 4:00pm
