

Ina Christine Ward, long time Lake Jackson resident, was called by the Lord December 4, 2011 at the age of 88. She was one of the kindest and most caring women that anyone could have ever met. Her life was a true example of the love of Jesus. Ina was born Thursday, October 11, 1923 in Elizabethton, Tennessee and was married to Robert Lee Ward April 4 1952. She was a loving wife and mother to her two sons Richard and Nelson. She worked in the health care industry as a Nurse for many years and her nurturing nature always had her thinking of others. She looked after the neighborhood children as if they were her own. Her life was joyfully filled with helping others, donating food and clothing for charities and volunteered with caring for handicapped children. She loved to sing, sew, crochet and crafting, especially during the Christmas season. She was always willing to help during difficult times and unselfishly stay and care for family or friends as long as was necessary. Her tender and caring spirit will always be remembered by all those that loved her and those that her life touched. She is preceded in death by her parents; Solomon and Sarah Wilson; husband; Robert Lee Ward; and brothers, Mike, Robert Kay, Lonnie, Vernon and Earnest Wilson. She is survived by her sons, Richard Ward of Lake Jackson, Nelson Ward and his wife, Angela, of Spring; grandson, Ben Toombs. Sisters: Carolyn Milam and Liz Mercer, brothers; Ed, Conway, Grady, Ralph and Arlie Wilson; sister in law, Lula Peters and all her many friends and neighbors.
