James Johnson "Jimmy" Jones

James Johnson “Jimmy” Jones was born, Tuesday, September 13, 1960 in Bay City, Texas and died Thursday, October 20, 2011, at his home in Angleton with his family by his side, at the age of 51 years, 1 month and 7 days. Jimmy married Shirley Yates on August 29, 1980 at the First Baptist Church in Van Vleck, Texas. He was a member of Life Foursquare Church in Angleton where he volunteered in kitchen ministry. He was a hunter and an avid fisherman! He enjoyed those outdoor activities with his best friends, Robin Stanley, Steve Schultz and Steve Sartin. He was a baseball coach with the Lake Jackson Little League program. Jimmy worked for B A S F for 23 years, where he won many awards and served on various committees. The family would like to thank B A S F for the blood and platelets donations. Jimmy had requested that his memorial service be a fun, uplifting, celebration of his life. He asked that no black be worn. Jimmy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred & Norene Nelson, who had lived in Bay City, Texas and Roy & Lilly Lee Jones, who had lived in Barksdale, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Jones of Angleton, Texas; son, Chase Jones and his fiancé Frances and their daughter, Lilly of Lake Jackson, Texas; daughter, Whitney Jones of Angleton, Texas; father, Donald Jones of Van Vleck, Texas; mother; Nickey Jones of Van Vleck, Texas; sisters, Kay Lynn Brewer of Longview, Texas, Joni Maley of Conroe, Texas, Cathy Fry of Van Vleck, Texas and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial and Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Life Foursquare Church in Angleton, Texas with Cere Muscarella officiating. The family has requested that memorial contributions in Memory of Jimmy be made to the Life Foursquare Church, 501 Karankawa, Angleton, Texas 77515 or the M. D. Anderson Lymphoma Clinic. Arrangements under the direction of Restwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Clute, Texas.
