

James Milton Lankford, of Freeport, Texas, was born, Tuesday, September 15, 1925 in Gadsden, Alabama to Grady Leon and Buena Kimbril Lankford and died Thursday, July 26, 2012 in Houston, Texas at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 11 days.
Mr. Lankford enjoyed being outdoors fishing, gardening and taking long walks. He loved spending time with family, especially the grandchildren. He liked to spend time at the Dog Track and Casinos. He was a proud member of the “5” generation club and a member of Temple Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, to whom he was married 50+ years, on November 3, 1997. He is also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Buddy Lankford; sister, Francis Sanborn. He is survived by his sons, Ronnie Lankford of Freeport, Donnie Lankford of Angleton, Skip Lankford of Houston; daughter, Rebecca Pavlicek of Lake Jackson; brother, Bobby Lankford of Mobil, Alabama; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
The family will received friends Monday, July 30, 2012 at Restwood Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in the Restwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brent Weldon of the Temple Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Restwood Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Pickett, Carey Lankford, Michael Lankford, Devin Green, Justin Green, J. R. Grey, Emilio Guajardo, Gunnar Reeves and Joshua Gilstrap.
