Jason was born to Larry and Judy Harris on March 11, 1977 in Houston, TX. Jason married Patricia “Patty” Chapman in Brownwood, TX on January 3, 2004. Jason worked for the past 11 years as a civil structural engineer, project engineer, and most recently, a small projects engineer for DOW Chemical.
Jason grew up in Cisco, Texas where he graduated from Cisco High School in 1995. He later went on to attend Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX to study engineering. Texas Tech is where he would meet and fall in love with his soulmate, Patty, in 2000. Jason and Patty began their married life together on January 3, 2004 and had recently celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on January 3rd of this year. Jason graduated with his degree in civil structural engineering in 2003 and has worked as an engineer for the last 20 years.
First and foremost, Jason was a loving husband and best friend to Patty. His children and grandchildren were his joy in life. Jason cherished spending every free moment laughing, talking, and going on adventures with his family. Jason’s ever present smile, exuberance for life, and genuine affection for others transformed the atmosphere when all 6’7” of him walked into a room. He prioritized making special memories with Patty and giving their family opportunities to experience the wonder of what God had created.
Jason made friends easily and cherished the ones he had. Some became more than friends, they became brothers.
Jason is survived by the love of his life, Patricia “Patty” Harris; sons Kyler and Kellen Harris; son, Colton (Alexis) Mikes; daughter, Misty Mikes; daughter, Candace (Chris) Johnson; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Schwab, Piercyn Schwab, and Bella and Jaxon Johnson; parents, Larry and Judy Harris; and brothers, Josh and Dustin Harris.
Serving as pallbearers are Kyler Harris, Colton Mikes, Bobby Knape, Joe Kukla, Oscar Lejia, and Ron Roy Goolsby.
