John Benavides worked supporting pipeline for 36 years at Dow Chemical. He was a long resident of Richwood, TX. He went to be with the lord on October 14, 2020, at the age of 62 surrounded by family and loved ones.

John is survived by his wife of 36 years Sylvia, they were married on March 3, 1984. He leaves behind his two sons John “Matthew” and Christopher Benavides. He is also survived by 4 sisters Patricia Benavides; Maria Machado (Benny); Clara Hurtado (Abel); Rosemary Garamillo (Greg); and special Aunt Mrs. Lupe Benavides. Plus many cousins, nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces.

John Benavides was born on April 9, 1958, in Bay City, TX to Susana Benavides. He is preceded in death by his mother Susana Benavides and sister Lydia Diaz.

John was a devoted husband, and father, an avid Dallas Cowboy fan if you knew him you knew he would not tolerate any negative talk regardless of how bad their record was. John coached both his sons in all their sports activities. He was a baseball, basketball, and football coach for many years. He always kept everyone laughing with his pranks and video editing skills, everyone turned into a dancing elf come Christmas time! John was an amazing human being no matter what your story was he was always willing to help. His faith was unwavering (ask his sons and wife) he attended St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Clute, TX.

The advice he leaves behind for all of us would be to ‘ALWAYS HANDLE YOUR BUSINESS’ Pallbearers include; Arthur Benavides, Arthur Benavides Jr, Ray Benavides, Ray Benavides Jr, Javier Romero, and Michael Garcia.
