John J. "Jack" Flynn, Jr., 72, of Freeport, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his residence on December 28th, 2013. A rosary service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, January 3rd, at Restwood Funeral Home with a visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 4th, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Restwood Memorial Park.
Jack was born January 19th, 1941 in Stratton, Pennsylvania to John and Helen Flynn, Sr. Jack proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked as an operator for nearly 30 years at DOW Chemical and was a member of the IUOE Local 564 until his retirement in 1996. He will be missed by numerous family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Joe Joseph Flynn.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years Mary Flynn; daughters Diana Salinas, Margie Salinas and Connie Diaz, Veronica Reyes and husband Ernesto; son Tony Salinas, Jr. and wife Yolanda; grandchildren Danielle Lara, Sophia Lara, Jon Reyes, Veronica Rodriguez, Brian Salinas, Joseph Salinas, Miya Salinas and Angelita Salinas; brother, Bill Flynn; sister-in-law Angelita Carranza; brothers-in-law, Felipe Villela and wife Irene, Ambrose Villela and wife Martha, Frank Villela and wife Florence and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as, his faithful 4-legged sidekick, Mia.
Pallbearers are Jon Reyes, Tony Salinas Jr., Robert West, Eric Martinez, Jack Flynn, and Richard Martinez.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Flynn's nieces and nephews.
