John Julius Sciba

John Julius Sciba passed away at his home on Tuesday November 17, 2009 in Lake Jackson, Texas. Mr. Sciba served in the United States Army Air Corps. Before retiring from Dow Chemical after 28 years of service, he worked for Jefferson Lake Sulfur Company for 16 years. Mr. Sciba was a member of the Wharton Masonic Lodge # 621 for 62 years. Preceded in death by his brother, William Lewis Sciba and sister-in-law, June Sciba. Survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mrs. Lucille Sciba; sons: Louis Ray Sciba (Polly) and Donald Wayne Sciba (Brenda); daughter, Jeanette Sciba; grandchildren: Mandy Condell (Tommy), Russell Sciba (Lacie), Rachel Arndt, Joshua Sciba; three great-grandsons: Caleb, Luke, James Thomas Condell; nephews: Jeff Sciba, Billy Sciba, Mike Sciba; nieces: Carol Harrell, and Shirley Weinberger; and his loving dog, Butch. Funeral services to be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday November 21, 2009 at Restwood Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Wharton City Cemetery. Visitation with the family one hour prior to service time Saturday.
