Born on February 14, 1990 in Lake Jackson, TX, to parents David and Deborah Williams, Joe was a devoted husband, a loyal friend, and a cherished son and brother. He approached life with kindness, humor, and a steady heart that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Joe loved the Lord. He attended First Baptist Church Lake Jackson growing up, and accepted Christ and was baptized at the beach at a young age. Joe and Melissa currently serve and reside at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Clute, TX.
Joe married the love of his life, Melissa Bailey, on September 29, 2018. Together they built a marriage rooted in laughter, faith, and deep companionship. Though they did not have children, their love for one another and their shared generosity toward others enriched the lives of many.
A man of integrity and hard work, Joe graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Psychology. He has held several positions from being a camp counselor at a boys camp for troubled youth, to being a safety tech at one of the local plants. At each place he worked Joe was respected by his colleagues for his dedication and compassion. Outside of work, he enjoyed serving in his church as an elder and playing guitar on the worship team, hiking to waterfalls, spending time with his friends and family playing games, and watching movies. Joe was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents Bruce and Cherry Carr, and Opal Mae King and brother in-law Mitchell Bailey.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa Williams; his parents, David and Deborah Williams; his siblings Jacob (Katie) Williams, Justin (Jodie) Williams and Kaitylnn Williams (BJ Foster); his nephews Bruce Williams and Bryson Foster; and a host of friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.
Receiving of friends will be held on Monday, October, 27th from 5-8 pm. A Celebration of Life for Joe will take place on Tuesday, October, 28th at 5:30 pm. Both services will be held at First Baptist Church Lake Jackson in Lake Jackson, TX. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Though his time with us was far too brief, Joe’s light continues to shine in the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the lives he touched.
