Betty was born December 27 1943 to Ralph & Ruth Merchant in Houston TX.
Betty loved to spend time with her beloved grandchildren. She would attend every function she could of theirs – sitting in the stands cheering for them in sports, watching enraptured as they would dance or perform on stage – she was their biggest fan and loved to watch them grow. Betty loved all of creation – but most dear to her were her beloved pets. They brought her many hours of joy and delight and we are sure that they will miss her dearly. Betty loved to eat – she would seek out and try new foods and flavors; never missing the opportunity to try something new. As she grew more seasoned, she would spend hours doing genealogy; researching family lines and the stories they told.
Betty is preceded in death by her son, William Clinton Mayhew; and her parents.
Surviving Betty is her son, Morey (Candice) Mayhew; daughters Kim Skinner, Sharon Martinez, Evelyn Clintsman, and Connie Trevino; sons Jeffrey Rigall, and Chester Rigall IV; sister Barbara Shustoff; special niece Cynthia Helms; lifelong friend Mary Reynolds; 23 grandkids, and several great-grandkids.
Services will be held on Friday July 31 2015 at 10am at Restwood Funeral Home; with burial immediately following in Restwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
