Judith Ione Gustin of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away on March 30, 2021 at the age of 81. Judy was born on December 14, 1939 in Houston Texas to Alphonse and Frieda Bordelon. A loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, she will be greatly missed by many people.
Judy attended Annunciation Catholic School through eighth grade and high school at Incarnate Word Academy in Houston. After graduating high school, she attended Massey Business College before going to work for Schlumberger. She worked for the City of Austin as a secretary and Dow Chemical as a keypunch operator until finding her long term career at an orthodontics office. Judy worked at the orthodontics office for over 32 years as a dental assistance, lab technician and office manager. She was a very loving and caring people person who would help anyone in need. She led a very faith filled life at St. Michaels Catholic church and prayed daily for a long list of friends and people who needed help. She was a member of the Women’s Club, The Alter Society, The CHRP cooking team and an avid participant in The Society of St. Vincent de Paul as treasurer. Judy was an excellent seamstress an enthusiastic quilter. All her family members and friends treasure the many quilts she has made for them.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Darvin Bordelon.
Judy is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 60 wonderful years, Matthew Ray Gustin. She is also survived by three children: daughter Domela and husband Walter Fulsom, son Alan and his wife Stephanie Gustin and daughter Danette and husband Stephen Pratt. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Jeromy Fulsom and his wife Nicole, Matthew Fulsom and his wife Talia, Nicole Sams, Jenny Brownfield and husband Brady, James Gustin, John Gustin, Michael Kaminski, and his wife Sara. She is also survived by her seventeen great-grandchildren: Kathryn Fulsom, Alyssa Closs, Haylie Markgraf, Cierra Turner, Chayse Turner, McKaila Sams, Brodie Sams, Case Rogers, Ezekiel Brownfield, Corrine Brownfield, Jaidyn Kaminski, Lilah Kaminski, Cooper Pratt, Parker Pratt, Knox Pratt, Jaxson Allen, and Julia Allen.
Pallbearers will be Jeromy Fulsom, Matthew Fulsom, Michael Kaminski, James Gustin, John Gustin and Brodie Sams.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Lake Jackson.
