Kent Wesley Smith, 81, of Lake Jackson, TX was born on April 28, 1934 in St. Louis, MO to Floyd Wesley and Hyacinth Delight Smith. Kent graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1956, and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the air force. Kent married Norma Sue Graham in September, 1956. He was stationed at Lowery AFB in Denver, CO and Tyndell AFB in Panama City, FL. After his tour of duty, Kent accepted a job with Dow Chemical in Midland, MI. and later transferred to Lake Jackson, TX in 1971. He retired from Dow in 1977 to start his own business. Kent enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife Norma; sister Rebecca Jones; children Laurie (Joe) Dant, Holly (Doug) Rosenquist, and Gregg (Michele) Smith; grandchildren Katie Spalding, Leslie Collins, Bethany Harley, Drew Smith and Kylie Rosenquist; and 4 great-grandchildren.
