Sherry,
I remember all of the Cradle of Texas Cub Scout Day camps when Dewayne was the resident leather expert. His patience and love for those young boys were epic. No job was too large or too small for Dewayne, he was always there. He will be deeply missed in so many ways, his ever giving spirit, scouting and camp knowledge, and the stories he could tell!
May God’s peace be with you at this sorrowful time.
Jeane

Sherry,
The laughs we shared keep me smiling today. I loved hanging out in the kitchen at Camp K with Dewayne. I remember the Hobart and throwing potatoes in it to make mashed potatoes. He would tells us funny stories and make the time pass quickly. Thank you for sharing him with all of us in Scouting. He has gone home.
With love and hugs,
Dona :-)

Dewayne was such a gentle giant of man. He touched so many lives through Scouting and his willingness to share his knowledge and skill will assure that he lives on in the hearts of the adults and youth who had the chance to spend time with him. I will always treasure the time spent working with him in the mess hall at Camp K. Sherry, I am so sorry for your loss and hope you find comfort in your countless memories.
