

Lena was born on October 21, 1934 to Italian immigrant parents, Vincenzo and Frances Noto. She was the third of six children, all raised in Evans City, PA.
Lena met her husband, Jim, while working at Callery Chemical In 1957. They were married in 1958. Jim joined the Air Force and his service took them to Japan and the Philippines. While living in the Philippines Greg was born. After the military, Lena and Jim spent the next few decades moving around the country with Dow Chemical, David,was born in Salina, KA and Sue Ellen, was born in Midland, MI. They eventually settled in Lake Jackson, TX in 1980. Lena’s chosen career was to be a wife and mother. She enjoyed volunteering with her kids’ schools and activities. She was a great cook, and she and Jim entertained often. Lena was an avid bridge player, tennis player and faithful volunteer with her community and church. When the nest emptied, Lena opened a small business in Lake Jackson, The Corn Popper, an endeavor that the entire family remembers fondly. After Jim’s retirement, they traveled extensively. Lena loved nothing better than a good road trip, especially if it took her to the annual Noto Family Reunion, which she looked forward to and helped plan each year. Lena was a wonderful grandmother. After Jim’s death in 2007, she continued her adventures and devoted many a weekend to her grandchildren’s activities. Lena’s grandchildren have a lifetime of wonderful memories of time spent with her.
Lena was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Jim. She is survived by her 5 siblings, Don (Nancy) Noto of Palm Harbor, FL. Bruno (Norma) Noto of Fayetteville ,GA, Nelson (Kathy) Noto of Butler, PA, Mary Welsh (Paul) of Boone, NC and Jim (Tricia) Noto of San Diego, CA. She is also survived by her children and grandchildren. Greg (Michelle) of Houston TX and their son, Max. David (Danielle) of Los Angeles, CA and their daughters Gabriella and Olivia. Sue Ellen (Doug) of Manvel, TX and their children Allison (Matthew), Drew (Laura), Morgan and Zachary.
Both the visitation and the funeral will be held at St Michaels’s Catholic Church in Lake Jackson on March 10. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and the funeral Mass will begin at 11:00. A reception at the church will follow. Private interment will be attended by the family at Restwood Funeral Home in Lake Jackson.
Charitable donations may be made in Lena’s name to the St Vincent DePaul Society at St Michael’s Church in Lake Jackson, 100 Oak Dr. S Lake Jackson, TX 77566.
