Leon W. Giese of Lake Jackson lost his courageous battle with heart disease and cancer on July 13th, 2018. Born in Brenham on June 9th, 1924 he came to Freeport after serving overseas in World War II and began a career at Dow Chemical Company that would last 42 years. In 1949 he married Wilma Jean Repp of Freeport; they had been married 68 years at the time of his death. In addition to his wife he is survived by his brother Gus Giese of Brenham and sisters Lillian Mantay of Yoakum and Anita Stroech of Bryan, daughter Karen Rozelle and husband Ron of Pearland, son Kerry Giese and wife Kathy of College Station, formerly of Lake Jackson, daughter Suzanne Wade of Clute, granddaughter Kara Siegel and partner Paula Metz of LaPorte, grandson Kerry Giese II (Chip) and fiancé Windy Clark of Houston, granddaughter Haley Worley and husband Scott of Freeport, granddaughter Megan Garcia and husband Dom on Sugar Land, grandson Kyle Giese and wife Ashleigh of College Station, granddaughter Katie Wade and fiancé Kevin Smith of Angleton, great granddaughters Zoe and Madeline Garcia of Sugar Land and numerous nieces and nephews. Leon was preceded in death by his parents Gustav and Annie Giese and his siblings Arthur Giese and Mildred Stelter. This gentle, kind man will be greatly missed by the breakfast crew at IHOP, the Brazos Mall walkers, and by many, many friends, whom participated with him in watching youth baseball, and Bwood football where he was a constant ‘bleacher creature” at his grandsons games. The family wishes to thank the staff at Elmcroft Senior Living, A-Med Hospice Care, and Leon’s niece Sissy Kirkpatrick, who sat vigil with him until he was called home. Visitation will be held at Restwood Dignity Funeral Home at 1038 West Plantation drive in Clute, Texas. from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 18th. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 19th at Christ Lutheran Church, 86 Plantation Drive, in Lake Jackson, Texas, with Pastor Paul Geisler officiating. Pallbearers will be Kerry Giese, Ron Rozelle, Kerry Giese II, Kyle Giese, Dom Garcia, Scott Worley, and Kevin Smith. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Restwood Memoiral Park after which refreshments will be served at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; her parents; her brothers, Robert and George (Sonny) Repp; and her sister, Betty Keith. Wilma Jean worked for many years as a hairdresser and later as a volunteer at Brazosport Hospital and was a generous contributor to several charities that benefitted children in need. She and her sisters Betty and Linda performed gospel music for countless nursing homes, auxiliaries and churches and on stage at the Lake Theater as The Repp Sisters Trio. At the very end of her life when her husband Leon passed away Wilma Jean, already in very frail health herself, seemed to set her course to follow him as soon as possible. Biography

Wilma Jean Giese, 88, passed away on July 17th, 2018, just four days after the death of her husband of 69 years Leon W. Giese.
Wilma Jean was born on July 1, 1930, the oldest of five children born to William Jennings and Bonnie Irene Repp. She is survived by her sister, Linda McDonald and her husband Bobby of Angleton; daughter, Karen Rozelle and husband Ron of Pearland; son, Kerry Giese and wife Kathy of College Station, formerly of Lake Jackson; daughter, Suzanne Wade of Clute; granddaughter, Kara Siegel and partner Paula Metz of LaPorte; grandson, Kerry Giese II and fiancé Windy Clarke of Houston; granddaughter, Haley Worley and husband Scott of Freeport; granddaughter, Megan Garcia and husband Dom of Sugar Land; grandson, Kyle Giese and wife Ashleigh of College Station; granddaughter, Katie Wade and fiancé Kevin Smith of Angleton; great-granddaughters, Zoe and Madeline Garcia of Sugar Land; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; her parents; her brothers, Robert and George (Sonny) Repp; and her sister, Betty Keith.
Wilma Jean worked for many years as a hairdresser and later as a volunteer at Brazosport Hospital and was a generous contributor to several charities that benefitted children in need.
