Leota “Lee” Cecile Malone, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Montgomery, TX on Friday, July 24, 2020. Lee was born on December 12, 1936 in Cameron, TX to the late Cecil William and Georgia Ione (Hendrix) Crowell.
A graduate of Freeport High School in Freeport, TX, Lee married Doyle Dean Malone in Angleton, TX on October 2, 1956 and settled in the Houston area and then Sweeny, TX where they raised three children.
Lee is survived by her husband Doyle, her children Diana Dean and her husband Philip Kip Endris, of Montgomery, TX; and Tracy Malone and her husband James Edward Sluetz, of Mansfield, MA. David Lawrence Malone sadly predeceased his Mother in 1980. Lee was the beloved “Nan” to her four grandchildren Meredith, Taylor, Madeline, and Mallory, in addition to her five great grandchildren Jackson, Cole, Morgan, Madison, and William.
A patriot and devoted matriarch to her extended family, Lee was also active in her Bible School group and enjoyed the company of many new and life-long friends. Lee was also involved and instrumental in the development of the Former Texas Rangers Foundation in Kerrville Texas.
A memorial celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 8, at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, TX.
