She was the youngest child of Frank and Frances Christen, with seven siblings to make life interesting at their farm on the outskirts of Weimar, Texas.
She met her sweetheart, Frank Drabek, from Gonzales, Texas, and after his tour in the U S Army, they married in 1953 and started a beautiful family. Frank Jr. was born in 1955 and Donald Ray in 1957. Lucille was a hard-working woman, both at home and in the workplace. She was a great cook, and her kolaches were fabulous! She also sold Avon for many years and had a childcare business. Lucille loved entertaining the whole family during the holidays and birthdays as well. The family spent many years travelling with Wilbert and Dorothy Mae Thumann and their children, frequenting their vacation homes in Somerville, Texas. They also loved the camping life, travelling in anything from a truck with a camper shell, to a full-fledged motor home. They were fearless road warriors and had a grand old time! All in all, Lucille has lived a very full life full of love and family, and wonderful memories for us to remember her with.
Lucille is predeceased by her parents, her husband Frank, her sisters Annie, Esther, Toni, Martha, Frances, and brothers Dan and Carl, as well as their spouses.
Lucille is survived by her sons, Frank Drabek Jr. (Lorenda), and Donald Drabek (Kerry), grandchildren Tonya Dunn (DuWayne), Chara Drabek, Erin Spoor (Jeff), Andrea Guice (Colby), and Michael Drabek. Included in her legacy are great grandchildren Ethan (Alecsis), Matthew, Callie (Ryan), Chase (Mia), Colton, Ashton, Sophie, Hunter and Hayden, and great-great grandchildren Moses, Maverick, Matteo, Rhett and Case. Also left with memories are many nieces and nephews and friends collected along the way.
We will be celebrating the wonderful life of Lucille Drabek beginning with a visitation time at Restwood Funeral Home at 1038 W. Plantation Drive, Clute TX, Friday evening, September 25th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at St. Michael’s Church at 100 Oak Drive South, Lake Jackson, TX with the Rosary at 10:15 am, and Mass at 11:00 am.
