Manuel was born July 7, 1928 in Brazoria, Texas to Nabor and Josefa Moreno. He loved baseball and played for the Freeport Cubs and LULAC All Stars in the late 1940's. He coached his son's soccer teams. He loved to fish and BBQ for his family. His hobby of upholstering was enjoyed by many businesses, family members and friends. He never met a stranger and was a good samaritan to many.
He is survived by his wife Guadalupe (Lupe) Moreno. They would have celebrated their 58th anniversary on June 23rd. He is also survived by sons David Moreno (Terrie) of Lake Jackson, Nabor Moreno (Crystal) and Steven Moreno of Clute; daughter's Josie Ramirez (Oscar) of Clute and Esther Trevino (Frankie) of Bay City; grandchildren Oscar Lee Ramirez (Rosa) of Richmond, Albert Lee Ramirez of Austin, Joshua Trevino of Bay City, Jeremy Trevino of Bay City, Isabella Moreno of Clute, Mya Moreno of Clute and Jordan Trevino of Bay City; great-grandson Joaquin (Max) Ramirez; brother's Exiquio (Zeke) Moreno of Clute and Jose Alvarado (Helen) of Victoria; sister's Sylvia Martinez of Clute, Modesto DeLeon of Pearland and Juana Alvarado of San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother's Frank Moreno, Basillo Moreno and Abel Moreno; sister's Henrietta Ordonez, Sara Martinez and Delores Delgado.
Pallbearers will be Oscar Lee Ramirez, Tom Luna, Martin Martinez, Michael Martinez, Alex Jackson, Lawrence Cabrera, Jeremy Trevino and Luis Pulido. Honarary pallbearers are Emilio Herrera, Jose Pulido, Baltazar Garcia and Charles Martinez.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Restwood Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a rosary to be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Clute at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 24, 2010 with graveside services following at Restwood Cemetery.
