

Marilyn was born on December 20, 1939, in Columbus, Texas. She graduated from the University of North Texas and built a successful career as a medical technician. Her life was defined by curiosity and fierce independence, and she found joy in shopping, gardening, and playing games on her iPad.
Marilyn will be remembered for her thoughtful spirit, her independent nature, and the quiet joy she brought to everyday moments. Those who loved her will carry forward memories of her curiosity, her warmth, and the simple pleasures she shared with family and friends.
She is survived by her brother, David; her niece, Mary Beth (Larry); her nephews, Donnie and Steve (Cynthia); her great-niece, Amanda Boneau; her great-nephews, Stormy Waters, Mark Boneau (Ashley), Colby Waters (Aaliyah), Chance Waters, Wade Waters, and Morgan Waters; her great-great-nephew, Atlas; and her dearest friend, Del Flores.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Mickey; her brother, JD; and her sisters-in-law, Billie and Betty Waters.
A memorial service will be held on August 21, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Restwood Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Gathering Place Interfaith Ministries in Marilyn’s honor.
