

Michael Ann Chaplin, 76, of Lake Jackson, TX, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, with her girls by her side. Michael was born on January 14, 1949 to Jack and Leona Gresham, in West Columbia TX.
She graduated Sweeny High School in 1967, and attended Wharton County Junior College, where she met her future husband, Kenneth Chaplin. They married on September 3, 1968 and settled in the Brazosport area. They would go on to have two daughters, Debbie and Kristie.
Michael worked for First State Bank in Clute for many years, and when she retired, she enjoyed camping with friends and family, and especially enjoyed spoiling her little Yorkie, Windsor.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 48 years, Kenneth, son-in-law Nathan Bond, grandson Bud Moseley, and beloved companion, James Brownson.
Michael is survived by daughters Debbie Bond of Cleburne, TX; Kristie Moseley (Joe) of Lebanon, OR; brothers Thomas Gresham (Stella) of Angleton, TX; Robert Gresham (Judy) of Georgetown, TX; brother in law Jerry Chaplin (Connie) of Fairfield TX; grandsons Dustin (Davee) Menzies of Lake City, CO; Cody Menzies of Springfield, OR; great grandchildren Nathaniel, Gabriel, and Harley, and bonus daughters Carol White and DeAnna Carter and several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the local ASPCA, or a charity of your choice.
A gathering to share memories for Michael will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Restwood Funeral Home, Followed by a graveside from 12:00 PM at Restwood Memorial Park.
