

Mildred Autrey, 97, of Brazoria, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014. She is now celebrating her heavenly birthday on her earthly birthday. A visitation will be Sunday, April 27, from 1 p.m. until the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Restwood Funeral Home.
Survivors include her son Howard Thirl Autrey and wife Marie; daughter Glynda (Autrey) Corley and husband B.L. “Sonny”; grandchildren; Michael Autrey and wife Sandee, Meghan Dietz and husband Steve, Melissa Pittman and husband Doug, Kyle Corley and wife Erin; great-grandchildren Zane Autrey Dietz, Corley, Caleb and Nate Pittman, Nicolette and Caroline Corley and Jesse Rios.
Sisters-in-law; Betty Autrey, Beth Sanders and Maurine Jones.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband B. H Autrey, Jr., her parents and siblings
Mildred was born April 23, 1917 in Groesbeck, Texas to Sidney Vernon Phillips and Mary Anna Phillips. She taught children in Sunday school and Vacation Bible School and helped in the nursery up into her 90’s. She was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Sweeny and The Rebeccas in Brazoria, also a former member of the New Salem, Texas Missionary Baptist Church. She was truly a Godly example of someone who gave to others through acts of service and love. There was always room for one more at her table.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Corley, Michael Autrey, Doug Pittman, Steve Dietz, Roger Autrey, Doug Utecht, Robert Autrey, Doug Autrey. Honorary pallbearers will be all her nieces and nephews
