Nita was born on August 26, 1942 to Raymond and Cloyce Hollida of Combes, TX. She married the love of her life, Dennis Ganstine Sr. in December of 1960 and celebrated 55 wonderful years together until his passing in 2015. They were blessed with three children: Dennis Ganstine Jr, Gregory Ganstine, and Denice Bass.
Nita worked the majority of her career at BASF in Freeport, TX. She was a woman of faith and belonged to First Baptist Church Lake Jackson where she volunteered with the meals on wheels program. Nita loved traveling, mystery novels, rooting for the Houston Astros and spoiling the family dog.
Nita passed on the morning of December 3, 2025 after a long illness. She is survived by her sons, Dennis and Gregory Ganstine, and her daughter and son-in-law, Denice and Tom Bass, as well as her grandchildren: Amanda Allen, Carolyn Ganstine, Chelsea Tepera, Kaylie Ganstine, Jordan Bass and great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Restwood Funeral Home at 1038 W. Plantation Drive, Clute, TX at 10:00 AM on December 10, 2025.
