Kerville, Texas July 20, 1969 ... one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. The H.E.B family 19 room homestead. All the daddy long leg spiders. Tim turning into super hero life guard. Houston Oilers training camp where everyone was talking about number one overall pick Jerry Levias ... instead of Charlie Joiner. I can still see my mom, sisters, brother, and dad sitting on the long screened in porch listening to the car radio as the lunar lander made contact with the moon. We were on vacation ... no tv in the house. I wouldn’t change a thing because it’s a memory that will be with me until my time has expired here. Mom, you were just simply the best in every sense of the word. You were not world famous but in my eyes you were the brightest star to ever shine in the heavens. I promise to make the rest of my time count mom. Thank you for always putting those you love first. Thank you for holding on to your beautiful spirit even when life was crashing down around you. Thank you for teaching me how to love and how to show and give love. Thank you for teaching me to forgive. Thank you for not ever giving up on any of your children. And finally, thank you for being my best friend for almost 59 years. I love you.

I remember Tony would come get me and bring me to Aunt Patsy’s and we would play baseball. She was so encouraging and loving! I know she is alive in The presence of our Savior! Until we meet again!

I spent a lot of my summers when I was a kid staying with Patsy and her family. I helped her care for her kids and I got to love her and those kids so much! Patsy was always so much fun! She was a great mom and housewife! I never understood how she did it all! And boy she could cook! She made the best pecan pie ever! Her daughter Cindy would always want to be on her hip, I would try to take her off her moms hip and she would scream so loud! I always enjoyed staying with her and her beautiful family! Love and miss you sweet sister!
