Paul was born to Clarence and Doris Perdue on July 12, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the eldest son and oldest brother to three sisters. With the passing of his own father at a young age, Paul quickly assumed a protective role to his mother and sisters.
Paul was a proud graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic High School, Class of 1967. After graduating from University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a degree in mathematics and receiving his MBA from Johns Hopkins University, Paul went on to have a successful banking career. His career brought him and his family from Maryland to North Carolina in 1992 and ultimately to Lake Jackson, Texas in 2003. Paul worked as a Senior Vice President for Texas Dow Employee Credit Union until his retirement in 2011.
Paul married his beloved wife, Patricia, at St. William of York Catholic Church in Baltimore, Maryland, on July 23, 1977. While married for 45 years, Paul and Patricia first met at eleven years of age. Paul and Patricia went on to have three children, Tricia, Paul Jr., and Elizabeth.
Paul was an avid lover of classic cars and country western television shows. As he became a grandparent, or “Da” as he was lovingly nicknamed, Paul frequently found himself at a local store picking out a new, small classic toy car to share with his first grandson, David. Paul had a soft spot in his heart for animals, doting on the many cats and dogs that filled the family home for years. Even after moving to North Carolina and Texas, Paul enjoyed annual vacations with his wife and children to Ocean City, Maryland, to visit extended family and create new family memories. He enjoyed making others laugh and was known to always have a joke on hand.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, and three children, Tricia (Dave), of Greensboro, North Carolina, Paul Jr. (Courtney), of Richmond, Virginia, and Elizabeth (Paul), of Cypress, Texas, as well as four grandchildren. Additionally, Paul is survived by his sisters, Barbara Vugrinec, Gloria (Richard) Clark, and Patricia (Jerome) Napora, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11am at Christ Lutheran Church in Lake Jackson.
