R C Parnell

R.C. Parnell, age 82, of Friendswood, Tx passed away on July 29, 2022, after a battle with bladder cancer. R.C. is survived by his loving family, wife Margaret, children Chris Parnell, Stacey Stafford, and Jennifer Varnau, sons-in-law Robert Stafford and Scott Varnau, brother-in-law Michael Smalley, grandchildren Thomas Stafford, Rebecca Stafford, Daniel Varnau, Aiden Varnau, and Gavyn Varnau and nieces and nephew Heather Smalley, Jonathan Smalley and Allison Steele.

R.C. graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in chemical engineering. He was the first in his family to graduate college, and as such he instilled a lifelong love of science and learning in his children.

He was a loving husband of 56 years to Margaret, and they enjoyed traveling together for as long as they were able. He also was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, and he continued to support World Bible School well into his retirement.

R.C. Parnell is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jewel Parnell, his siblings, Irvin Parnell and Elizabeth Snell, and his nephews Gary and Jeff Parnell.

A memorial service for R.C. will be held at League City Church of Christ, 1801 E. Main Street, League City, Tx 77573 on Thursday Aug 11 at 4pm. A private family graveside service will be held at a later time.
