Raul Trevino, age 65, of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday August, 1, 2020, surrounded by his family. Raul was a fighter and fought the cancer battle until his very last breath. He was born on October 18, 1954 to Francisco and Maria Carmen Trevino of San Benito, Texas.
Raul was a very hard-working dedicated man. He worked at Dow Chemical for 30 years as an Instrument Electrical Technician. He retired from Dow in 2011 and preceded to work at Turner Industries until his diagnosis in 2019.
Raul was a wonderful husband, father, and father-in-law. He was an exceptional grandpa and loved his role as a grandfather. He was a great friend to many. Raul had immense faith and always trusted God’s will. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He was a light-hearted, lovable, easy going, generous spirit. His favorite past time was spending time with his family. He enjoyed BBQing, listening to music, watching sports, fishing, and enjoying a “few” beers with his good friends. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan and never missed a game with his son-in-law. He was spoiled by his wife and daughter’s cooking. He loved hearing his granddaughter sing. She would sometimes sing to him to cheer him up. His sense of humor and zest for life will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his son, Raul Jr., his parents, and siblings, Nelda, Gregorio, and David Trevino.
To cherish his memories, he leaves behind his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Elosia Trevino, his loving daughter, Sonia Cavazos, special son-in-law, Andy Cavazos, and the apple of his eye, his one and only granddaughter, Karina Ramirez. Also surviving him are his sisters, Elva Trevino and Carmen (Leo) Hernandez; and brothers, Francisco (Lupita) Trevino, Ruben Trevino, Jesus Trevino and numerous nieces, nephews, brother/sister-in-laws, cousins, and friends, all whom he loved very much.
The family will be holding private family services. The family requests that family and friends go to his obituary page on Restwood Funeral Home’s website to leave condolences, memories, or prayers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made online at St. Michael’s Lake Jackson, St. Vincent de Paul Society.
