Rebbecca Jean Tarrant

A lifelong learner and dedicated professional, Rebbecca graduated from South Houston High School in 1969. She went on to attend California State University before earning her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston. Throughout her dynamic career, Rebbecca was a trailblazing businesswoman—working in sales for Wang Laboratories, owning and operating Pearland Day Care, and ultimately serving her community as a compassionate Medical Social Worker at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Rebbecca found immense joy in her creative passions and simple pleasures. She was an accomplished artisan who spent countless hours immersed in needlework and quilting, handcrafting intricate pieces that reflected her care and attention to detail. An avid gardener, she possessed a remarkably green thumb, pouring her heart into her yard with a special fondness for cultivating beautiful, vibrant daylilies.

Family was the heart of Rebbecca’s life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Tarrant, her parents, and her sisters, Grace Ann Denman and Patricia Hedglin.

She is survived by her loving sons and daughters-in-law, Edwin and Farideh Buck, and Jared and Karen Buck; her three cherished granddaughters, Jennifer, Frida, and Lauren; her sister, Sandy Uncapher; and her brother, Lloyd Denman. She also leaves behind her nephew, Lukas Denman; her nieces, Bonnie, Rachel, Stephanie, and Jessica; as well as many beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.

Rebbecca’s warmth, ambition, creative spirit, and lifetime of service to others will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
