Roy Alva Wooten, Jr. (R.J.) was born to Roy Alva Wooten, Sr. and Kattie Lee Head Wooten on September 9 of 1936 in Lefors, TX. He graduated High School in Lefors, TX then attended Oklahoma A&M University, going on to Graduate from West Texas State University.
Roy enjoyed working with his hands and entertaining. He loved woodcarving and teaching children about God’s love. He taught Sunday School and Children’s Church, often using his ventriloquism skills with his sidekicks, Jingo and JT.
Roy is proceeded in death by his parents, Roy Alva Wooten, Sr. and Kattie Lee Head Wooten, sisters, Oma Lee Laughlin, Juanita Deletha Fisher and Georgie Jean Mekow, and brother, Stephen Wesley Wooten.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Patricia Wooten, their sons, Ricky Wooten and his family and Rodney Wooten and his family, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Restwood Funeral Home, 1038 WEST PLANTATION DR, CLUTE, TX 77531, US, on August 6, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at Restwood Funeral Home at the same address on August 6, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
