Simona Hernandez

Simona V. Hernandez, Longtime resident of Clute, Texas, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 18, 1928, to Reducindo and Natividad Villarreal in Rio Rico, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Reducindo and Natividad Villarreal, brothers Alberto Villarreal, Ernesto Villarreal, Julian Villarreal, Urbano Villarreal. Sisters Adela Villarreal, Santos Garcia, Maria Villarreal, Herlinda Del Toro, daughter, Gloria Mata, grandsons Rodger Dale Edgar Jr., Bobby Ray Gonzalez and son-in-law Rodger Dale Edgar. She is survived by her brother Benito Villarreal and sister Margarita Piedra. Children San Juanita Hernandez, Sulema Edgar, Jesus Hernandez and wife Arlene, Jose Hernandez and wife Susie, Luciano Hernandez and wife Ana, Rene Hernandez, Genevie Guillen, Dennie Hernandez and wife Mary Ann, Mary Gonzalez and husband Ramiro. 21 grandchildren and 27 great grand-children, as well as numerous other family and friends. Simona will always be remembered as a very loving, caring and generous member of her church and community who always put others before herself. She devoted her life to serving God and cherishing moments with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Restwood Funeral Home, Clute, Texas on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 pm with a rosary from 6:00-7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014, at 10:30 am at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, in Clute, Texas. Burial service will follow at Restwood Memorial Park, in Clute, Texas. Pallbearers will be Dennie Hernandez, Jose Antonio Hernandez, John David Edgar, Miguel Hernandez, Jonathan Guillen and David Lee Gonzalez.
