Stella Constance (Lodza) Whiteker was born February 14, 1916 in Paterson, NJ, to Bronislawa (Junda) and Illia Lodza. She was raised in East Hempstead, Long Island, NY by her mother and step-father Frank Jigga. Stella married her husband Clarence W. Whiteker January 10, 1942, just as he was recalled to serve until 1946 in the U.S Army Air Corps. In 1946, Stella, her husband and their infant daughter Susan moved to Lake Jackson, Tx to grow and raise their family. Stella moved to Austin in 2006 to be close to her daughter Sarah. After a sudden and rapid decline in health, on January 12, 2020, it was God's grace that she took her last breaths while held in her daughter's arms.
Stella is preceded in death by her parents, her Aunt Josephine Junda, her husband Clarence Whiteker and her daughter Susan Whiteker. She is survived by her daughter Sarah Whiteker, her son Jim Whiteker and by Victoria Whiteker; by grandchildren Pete (Tina) and Ben Whiteker (Leah), Christal Whiteker-Lewis (Johnny), Dawn Craig (Matt), 10 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Restwood Memorial Park on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 10:30 a.m. followed by the burial.
