Sylvia Alicia Lopez

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sylvia Alicia Lopez (64), on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025. She was born in Weslaco, Texas on November 20th, 1960 to Silvino & Alicia Garza. She was surrounded by and survived by her loving husband Marco, of 36 years, her son Abimael, her father Silvino, her brother's, Silvino & Samuel (Leah), her sisters Aracelia (Gary), Mavel (Joe) Maricela (Mario) Maribel (Carlos), and Eliza, as well as her nieces and nephews.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her adored mother, Alicia Ovalle Garza, and her maternal grandparents Narciso Ovalle and Juanita Villanueva.

Sylvia touched the lives of so many and never saw a stranger. She loved teaching, crafts, gardening, and spending her time with her family. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she had immense joy speaking to everyone about our Loving God Jehovah, and his son, Jesus Christ. She wanted others to have the same joy and hope she had. She fell asleep in death knowing her God given assignment had been fulfilled.

On behalf of the Lopez and Garza family, all the love and sympathy, and beautiful stories of our beloved Sylvia are greatly appreciated and will forever be carried in our hearts.
