Zaragoza Fuentes Gracia, 90, of Clute, Texas entered heaven’s gates on May 24, 2018. Zaragoza was born in Lobo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on October 12, 1927 to Pedro and Agustina Gracia. He was one of 10 children. He met Maria Garcia in their hometown and they were married in January 1960. They moved to California and worked in agriculture. Zaragoza and Maria then moved to Brazoria County to work in the petrochemical industry. They laid down their roots in Clute where they raised their 4 children. He and his wife often visited their hometown where they had a cattle ranch. They enjoyed giving back to their family and the small community of Lobo. Zaragoza and Maria were married for 48 years until her passing in 2008. He loved his family, friends, his cattle ranch, and the outdoors. Zaragoza is survived by his children Americo Gracia (Gloria), Maria Cisneros (Sam), Jorge Gracia (Graciela), Myrna Gamboa (Esteban), 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Inosencia. He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, and his siblings Basilico, Manuel, Benito, Cruz, Ambrocio, Luz, Maria de Refujia, Natividad, and Juanita.
The visitation will be held at Restwood Funeral Home on Tuesday May 29, 2018 from 10:00am to 12:00pm, with the funeral service to celebrate Zaragoza’s life starting at 12:00pm, followed by the graveside in Restwood Memorial Park. The family would like to give an extended thanks to the ICU nurses at CHI St. Luke’s and Woodlake Nursing Home for their care.
