

Service was held Friday March 10, 2017 for Elmer Curtis Lucero who passed away March 4, 2017 at the age of 87. He was born in Denver, Colorado on April 13, 1929. He spent four years serving his country in the United States Navy. He married Frances Lucero in 1950 and started a family. They relocated to Coalinga in 1960 to raise their four boys Stephen, Scott, Mark and Matt.
Curt worked for Pacific Gas & Electric for 38 years before retiring with his wife. They loved to go camping and enjoyed visiting many different R.V. parks. He also loved church and was very proud of being a part of Chapel Grace. His favorite pastime was meeting with his friends over coffee and trying to solve the political problems of our country. He also loved to attend and interact socially at our local college rodeos.
He is preceded in death by his wife Frances and oldest son Stephen Lucero.
He is survived by his three sons, Scott Lucero and wife LaDawn of Coalinga, Mark Lucero and wife Janie of Stanton, North Dakota, Matt Lucero of Oregon; eight grandchildren, Kara Lucero, Anthony Lucero, Erica Lucero, Stephen Lucero, Nicole Medina, Brittney Lucero, Brandon Gunderson, Natasha Lucero and Matt Lucero Jr. and 17 great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful father, husband, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all.
