

Paul D. Brazelton, 53, also known as “Braz” by his friends, entered into rest on Friday November 11th 2016 in Hanford, California. Paul was born in Redding, California on May 17th 1963. He married his wife Mary Brazelton on June 22nd 1985 in Sacramento, California.
Paul began his career as a Correctional Officer at Deuel Vocational Institution in September 1984. He promoted to Correctional Sergeant at Calipatria State Prison in November 1991 and later transferred to Pleasant Valley State Prison in 1994. He promoted to Correctional Lieutenant in March of 1998, Correctional Captain in October 2004, and Correctional Administrator in January of 2008, and was confirmed as Warden of Pleasant Valley State Prison in June of 2012, where he remained until his retirement in November of 2013.
Paul was a diehard sports fan; he especially loved the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco Giants and NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick. The thing he was most passionate about was watching his children participate in sports.
Paul is survived by his wife, Mary Brazelton, his son Trevor Brazelton and his wife Sara Brazelton, his daughter Cady Brazelton, his brother Wayne Brazelton, and his parents Lynn Brazelton and Jan Patton.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 2nd, at 11:00 a.m., at Chapel Grace 120 E. Hawthorne Street, Coalinga, with a reception to follow.
Paul was a Great Husband and Father and will be Truly Missed.
