Brigitte Marachi Sullivan, age 85, passed away Friday evening, June 20, 2025 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida. She was born Brigitte Marachi, on October 28, 1939 in Tehran, Iran, to Chamsedine Marachi and Simone (Seguret) Marachi.
Brigitte was preceded in death by her parents, her former husbands, William M. Sullivan and Martin Sullivan, and her brother Dennis Marachi.
Brigitte immigrated to the US at 14 years old with her family through Ellis Island in 1954. She later attended Oneonta State Teacher’s College, where she met her first husband William Sullivan, who served in the US Air Force in Korea. She went on to obtain a medical Lab Technician’s license, a real estate license, and eventually became a certified Master Gardener from the University of Florida Institute of Agricultural Sciences. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Port St. John, she volunteered at the thrift shop and actively participated in the church community.
Brigitte is survived by her brother Jean Marachi (Carmella), son John Sullivan (Lisa), daughter Catherine Sullivan, stepchildren Anne Graves-Barron, Burton Sullivan (Cathy), Valerie Sink (Mark) and Lynn McAlpine. Grandchildren Randall, Ryan (Olivia), Scott, Theresa, Great-Grandchildren Ethan and Elise, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who loved her.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Port St. John, 3900 Fay Boulevard, Cocoa, Fl., on July 15, and will be ministered by Pastor Andrew Carrington. Her burial will be held at a later date at Quantico National Cemetery where she will join her late husband Martin Sullivan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Port St. John.
