

After a long illness, Delores "Dee" Bishop age 75, of Cocoa, Florida, passed away February 29, 2012 peacefully at home, her husband and sister by her side. Dee was born April 23, 1936 in Johnstown, PA. She was the oldest of two daughters born to John A.and Jessie (Cole) Kidd. She grew up and attended schools in Johnstown, PA and Niles, OH. She graduated in December, 1953 from Niles High School.
Delores met her husband Wayne, when she was 15 and they married when she was 17. Wayne was in the Navy and they lived in Norfolk, VA until moving to Iowa where their daughter Elizabeth "Liz" was born in 1955. They then moved to Hialeah, FL where they built their first home in 1956. Their son Michael was born in 1959.
She belonged to North Hialeah United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Choir. She sang for weddings and did a lot of solos throughout the years. She taught UM Youth with Wayne, and was the Church Treasurer. She like to play tennis, square dance, swim, garden and paint. She like watching the birds and especially loved the Cardinals which later turned into collecting bird music boxes.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, John A. and Jessie (Cole) Kidd. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wayne A Bishop, Cocoa, Florida; daughter Elizabeth "Liz" Bishop of Rockledge, FL; son Michael John (Debbie) Bishop of New Taswell, TN; grandchildren, Shelley Ickes; Michelle Radford; Michael Bishop, Jr., Jessica Smith (Troy) and great-grandchildren, Paris, Piper, Brenton and Bailey; a sister Patricia Hutchins (Richard) of Rockledge; and many other extended family.
Family will receive visitors, Sunday March 4, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, 5475 N US 1, Cocoa, FL and services will be at the same on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
Donations are asked to go to the Hospice House in Rockledge, Dr. Jey Pallai. on Eyster Boulevard.
