

Mrs. Guthrie was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and grew up in Miami. She attended Florida Atlantic University for her undergraduate studies, before earning her master's degree in urban and region planning followed by her Juris Doctorate in Law from Florida State University.
She was a member of the Florida Bar and practiced law in Merritt Island, Fla. for 34 years. She loved the practice of law and was devoted to serving her clients and friends throughout her career.
Mrs. Guthrie had a tremendous talent and love of creating for her family through crocheting and other crafts, had a lifelong passion for reading and enjoyed spending time with her extended family.
Mrs. Guthrie loved her family and is survived by her husband of 40 years, Robert D. Guthrie, Jr., of Titusville; her sons, Christopher Guthrie of Titusville and Jarrett Guthrie of Tampa, Fla.; her sister, Sandie Fix and her husband, Jim Fix, of Titusville; her brother, M. Dean Scheel and his wife, Cathy, of Plano, Tex.; and many nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Guthrie's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, 5475 N US 1, Cocoa, FL 32927, and family and friends are welcome attend.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Diane's name to Hospice of St. Francis.
