

Ethel passed away peacefully at the Life Care Center of Palm Bay at the age of 94. Ethel will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Sharon Roberts King (Lyle) and Sherry McElwain Post (Garen). Beloved Grandma to Aimee League (Mark), Ashley Post, Shelley Paris (Tim), Joshua Post (Amy), Stephen King, Matthew Coleman, fourteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She has three brothers: John Strehl (Gloria), Mike Strehl (Vicki) and David Strehl (Debbie) and many nieces and nephews.
She is pre-deceased by her loving husband, Arlis (Mac) McElwain and daughter Peggy Stevenson, four sisters: Clara Burton, Dorothy Ford, Virginia Hempel and Betty Pruden.
Ethel and her husband, Arlis (Mac) for many years, were the owners of Mac’s Cape Kennedy Equipment on Merritt Island, Florida.
Ethel, for many years, was a faithful member of First Christian Church of Owensboro, Kentucky where she enjoyed attending the FaHolo Sunday School Class.
Ethel’s hobbies included bowling, working jigsaw puzzles, word search books, dominos (Mexican Train) and cards with friends. She also enjoyed watching Kentucky Wildcats basketball and professional tennis.
Final respects can be shared with the family at the Interment Service on June 21 , 2025 at 11:00 am at Cocoa Memorial Park, 320 Spring St. Cocoa, FL 32927.
