He proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954 on a destroyer. He subsequently pursued a career at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, as an electrician, working with Pan-Am and Johnson Control, for the next 35 years. His hobby was flying RC aircraft with the Spaceport RC club.
He is preceded in death by his wives Ruth Rush and Jane Rush. Survived by son Howard J. Rush, III and spouse Cindy, Merritt Island Fl. Joseph Westbrook and spouse Kim, Rockledge Fl. Butch Westbrook Cocoa Fl. Candy Gardner and spouse Jim, Mountain City TN. Angel Greene and spouse Mark, Rockledge Fl. Miles Juelfs and spouse Robin, Augusta Ga. Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 1:00 - 2:00 at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home 1360 N. Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island with a service to follow at 2:00pm.
