Merritt Island, FL, 90, passed away May 6. Jackie, as she preferred to be called, was a first grade teacher for Brevard County School Board from 1958 through 1987. She retired from Brevard County School Board after teaching at Audubon Elementary in Merritt Island for almost 20 years.
In retirement she and husband Ed enjoyed many years of traveling, antiquing, and hosting family gatherings. Jackie had an adventurous spirit, was optimistic and full of faith. She and Ed were charter members of Grace Methodist Church on Merritt Island where she continued to be a member.
Jackie was a devoted wife to Ed her husband of 58 years until he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her father and mother Jackson and Angie Butler, sisters Caroline and Virginia.
She was a very loving mother and grandmother as well and is survived by daughter Angie Hampton and husband Jeff, son Ed and wife Angie, daughter Melissa Holt and husband Tom, son Jeffrey, grandson Corey Goldfarb, grandson Jamie Goldfarb and his wife Krystal, great grandson Jameson, granddaughter Taylor Ducharme and husband Alex, granddaughter Katherine as well as several nieces, nephews, and step grandchildren.
