

James "Jimbob" Rice passed away peacefully after a long illness and went home to be with the Lord at the age of 55. He is survived by his mother, Era Shoaf, and sister Kim Bates. He is predeceased by his father Larance Rice, brother Larry Rice, and sister Elizabeth VonBoeckman.
Jimbob was born in Miami, Florida on August 28, 1968, to Larance and Brownie Rice. He moved to Mims with his parents in 1972 at the age of four, later to Port St. John, and finally to the Palm Bay area. He was a devout Christian and enjoyed singing with his family in his dad's church. Jimbob started working with his dad as a young boy helping his dad in his stucco business and became highly skilled at stucco and plastering as well as many other construction skills. Jimbob enjoyed hunting and fishing and just being outdoors. He loved basketball and football and was a huge Miami Dolphins fan. Family was everything to Jimbob. He had such a huge tender heart and was always there to help and take care of loved ones when needed. Jimbob will be lovingly remembered by all his family and many friends who loved him so much.
A visitation for Jimbob will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Iglesia Bautista Calvario (First Baptist Church West Melbourne), 79 Park Hill Road, Melbourne, FL 32904. Following the visitation will be a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Iglesia Bautista Calvario (First Baptist Church West Melbourne), 79 Park Hill Road, Melbourne, FL 32904. Burial will be at Brevard Memorial Park, Cocoa.
