Born in Deland, FL, Diz lived grew up and lived in Florida his entire life. He served in the United States Army.
He worked as an industrial electrician from 1958 to 2002 when he retired. An outdoorsman, Diz enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Dean; son, David Dean; and brother, Frank Dean. Diz is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Mary E. Dean; three sons: Danny Dean (Yunsuk), Steven Dean (Cheryl), and Jamie Dean (Vikki); daughter, Deena Dean; sister, Susie Densmore; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 11AM-12PM with the service to begin at 12PM at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home. Military honors will be presented at graveside at Brevard Memorial Park following service.
