Born in Welch, West Virginia, John moved to Cocoa in the early 1970s while his service in the United States Navy.
He served in the United States Army before becoming a career Navy man.
He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida. He was a member of the NRA
and the Spaceport Gun Club. He enjoyed watersports.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Angel R. Taylor and grandson, John A. Taylor, Jr. John is survived by his two sons: John A. Taylor, Sr. (wife, Vicki) and Patrick Taylor; sister, Maryjane Whitescarver; two grandchildren: Brandy and Zachary and four great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 10-11AM with the service to begin at 11AM. Military honors and interment will be at Brevard Memorial Park following services.
