

He was a high power lineman and a member of the IBEW/Local 222n Union for 42 years and worked at KSC for over 12 years.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Christofer Van Riper, Sr., and brother, David Van Riper.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda Van Riper , of Cocoa; mother, Elizabeth P. Van Riper, of Cocoa; brother, Joe Van Riper, of Cocoa Beach; children, Sherri Sanderlin (Terry), of Cocoa, Steve Young, of Cocoa, Larry Erickson (Rachel), of Soldotna, Alaska; grandchildren, Paige, Dylan and Haley Sanderlin, of Cocoa, Emily, Michael and Molly Erickson, of Soldotna, Alaska.
John was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and loved to go to his hunting camp, in McKlenney, FL , with the best friend he ever had, Louie Sicolo.
Viewing will take place at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home in Sharpes on Friday, November 4th from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. with a service to follow. The family will receive guests after the service at Linda’s Café and Lounge, 200 Willard St., Cocoa, FL 32922.
