Mamie Lee Cooper

February 20, 1937December 30, 2018

Mamie Lee (Williams) Cooper, affectionately known as “Ruth” to family and friends, was born in Alachua, Florida on February 20, 1937, to the late Maxie and Leila Williams.

Mamie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age.

On February 28, 1955 Mamie was united in marriage to Emanuel C. Cooper and was a loving and devoted wife. In 1955 Mamie and Emanuel moved to Buffalo, NY, where they joined the Young Tabernacle Holiness Church under the direction of Late Bishop Lucy H. Young. She served faithfully as a deaconess. In October 1980 she relocated to Titusville, FL and became a member of the First Born Church of The Living God where the late Bishop Walter Smith was pastor. She dutifully performed the roll of church secretary under the leadership of Junior Bishop Frank Southerland, until her health began to fail.

Mamie was employed as a supervisor for the Florida School System until her retirement.

Mamie Lee Cooper entered her earthly body into rest on The Lord’s Day, December 30, 2018. She now begins her spiritual journey of eternal life.

She leaves to celebrate her memory her husband, Emanuel C Cooper Sr., her children Emanuel Jr. (Gloria), Randy Sr. (Sandra), Valerie, Shawn and Emanuel C. Hedgeman (Jeanette), her fourteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother Daniel Williams of Alachua, FL. and a host of family and friends.

Thank you for accepting me as your own.
The conversations and laughs we shared will truly be missed. If it wasnt sneaking us crab legs on our plate because our mom said we couldn’t have none lol it was the day we talked about my love life and you said you we’re going to help me find a man like grandpa lol. And with having a man like grandpa I know you knew how to pick them lol. Grandma it was never a dull moment with you. You had jokes for days, and I loved every moment of it. But now your in heaven.Continue to smile and laugh grandma. I love you so much your grandkids love you. We will miss you beautiful 💔😢❤️

Mother Cooper you always had a ready smile and pleasant laugh whenever we talked. You made those around you feel special just to be in your presence. Grace and poise were a natural part of your framework . I thank God to have known you. I will miss you dearly.

Mom. I thank God for allowing me to part of your life. I will never forget our conversations, words of wisdom that you gave me and our laughs together. I will always cherish those memories. I know you're in a better place but I will miss you terribly. I don't think of you as my mother in- law. You are mom to me. You stepped into that role with open arms and loved me from day 1 when I married your son and when my mom went to be with the Lord. I can still hear your voice saying " Hey sweetheart" when we spoke. I will miss hearing those words. I also wanted to say thank you mom for loving ReAle as she was your own granddaughter. She truly loved her grandma. I will never forget you Mama. Rest in peace.. I love you...
