Jack is lovingly remembered by his son David Martin and family Susan (wife), William (son), and Laura (daughter); His daughter Margaret Hargis and family Greg (husband), Steven (son) and Eric (Son); Son-in-law Michael Stinson and family, daughter Jeanna Coughlin and her husband Shawn Coughlin; son David Stinson and Renee Beukenkamp. Jack was predeceased by his loving parents Morrie and Margaret Martin, wife Eugenia Wilson Martin, daughter Holly Stinson, grandson Michael Stinson Jr, brother Ronnie Martin and sister Susan Vermeulen
After graduating from Fairport NY High School in ‘50 he joined the US Navy and served with an air wing as an Aviation Electronic Technician. He then started as a technician with GE in Rochester NY and was transferred to Patrick AF base in ’58. While working with GE he attended Rollins College to get his EE. After a few company name changes he took a job with NASA as an Electrical Engineer. Jack retired from NASA as a Management Information Specialist at KSC in 1999, having worked on the Minuteman, Redstone, Mercury, Saturn, and Space Shuttle projects.
In his youth he was an Eagle Boy Scout. As a father he was scout master for troop 370 at First Presbyterian of Titusville. He was also a little league manager for the Dodgers of Titusville in ’67-’69 timeframe. He attended Park Ave Baptist and was a long-standing member of the choir until attending church became to difficult. Jack and Jean loved going on the Lynx bus trips with PAB, traveling across the US. Jack was a long time volunteer at the Space Walk of Fame Museum and Saturn 5 display at KSC.
There will be a grave site service Friday 5/13/2022 at Brevard Memorial 5475 N US1 Cocoa FL 32927 at 11AM, just south of the Frontenac Flea Market. Grave site near the back south/west corner.
