Michael Wayne Copenhaver

Michael Wayne Copenhaver, 59, passed away September 4th, 2026. Born in West Virginia. Son of James Edward Copenhaver and Nancy Lorraine Copenhaver. Brother of Cherryl Ann Copenhaver, James Alan, and Wanda Copenhaver.

Mike was a Crane Operator. Member of the 673 Operators and Local 808 Iron Worker Unions. He received Commendations from Cape Canaveral AirForce Station and recognized by Martin Marietta as "Exemplary". OSHA and NCCCO Certified. He absolutely loved what he did!

He also loved to be on the water either in his fishing boat or on the airboat. He liked to lift weights, hunt, fish, and all outdoors. He was proud of his gun collection and ready for just about anything. Mike was a good father and will be remembered for his strength, strong work ethic, honesty, integrity, and ability to always be unapologetically himself.

He is survived by his son, Tanner Copenhaver, Melissa Steele Copenhaver, grandchildren Cameron Copenhaver and Jayden Hill. Preceded in death by his father James Edward Copenhaver, grandparents Charles and Tressie Copenhaver, Delbert, and Myrtle Perry.

There will be a Celebration in Mike's honor at Laughman's Lakeside; 1955 Hatbill Rd., Mims, FL 32754 / J3W6+7X Mims, Florida Followed by an Airboat Rally to scatter his ashes. The date and time will be announced here as soon as possible.
