Born March 5, 1921 in Coshocton, Ohio to Harvey J. and Mary Finnell House. He fought in WWII with the Marine Corps from May of 1942 until May 1946. During his time in the Marine Corps, he served in American Samoa, Auckland New Zealand, New Caledonia, the British Solomon Islands, Espiritu, Santo, New Hebrides and was wounded in Bougainville, B.S.I. and received the Purple Heart Medal.
On July 1, 1945 he married Elizabeth Price at Mares Island, California. After his discharge in 1946, he moved back to Cleveland where together they had six children and he returned to his job at the Ohio Rubber Company. In 1959, the family made the move from Ohio to Orlando, FL where he worked for Martin Marietta until 1965 when the family moved to Titusville, FL and he worked for Chrysler, Bendix and Johnson Controls until retirement in 1987. Miley was preceded in dead by his wife, Elizabeth; sons: William and Miley Jr.; granddaughter: Elizabeth Rogers; and brothers: Robert and John. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara House of Bithlo, FL; sons: Thomas and Michael, both of Titusville, FL; daughter, Maureen Abbott and her husband Barry of Montrose, Pennsylvania; brother, Harvey House of Orlando, FL; sisters: Dorothy Bathhurst and Norma Ducey of Ohio; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service Friday, November 11, 2016 at 1PM at Brevard Memorial Park.
