

Born on February 21, 1936, in Connersville, Indiana, Pat was one of nine children of Luther and Myrtle Witt. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Hobart Back, and together they moved to Florida to raise their family.
A devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Pat was a gifted crochet artist whose intricate and beautiful creations became treasured keepsakes for family and friends. Her hands were rarely still, and her heart was always open. She welcomed many into her home over the years, offering kindness, comfort, and generosity to all who knew her.
Pat’s legacy of love lives on in her daughter, Bernie (Pat) Joyner of Tyrone, Georgia; her sisters, Barbara Weston and Linda Blaze, both of Connersville, Indiana; her five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews who adored her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hobart; her son, Terry; and her grandson, Clint.
Friends and family are invited to gather at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home (1360 N. Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, FL 32953) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Brevard Memorial Park (320 Spring Street, Cocoa, FL 32927).
Pat will be remembered for her compassion, creativity, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and grace that will be cherished forever.
